Aqua Indiana on hold
In these days of swelling anti-government sentiment, the plea from customers of a private company for the government to take over the business is both ironic and noteworthy.

Few people these days believe that business should be run more like a government.

The fine is a result of the company not meeting a timeline to fix the problems as it agreed to when it was granted a rate increase in May. The Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, Aqua Ohio and the staff of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio all came to agreement on the terms of this violation.

An AUF rate-payer in west Pasco County called me a couple of days ago, and shared another negative experience with Aqua’s Customer Service Department.

He had some bad smelling and bad looking water coming out of his faucet. He called Customer Service, and after listening to his concerns, was asked the following question: “So what do you want me to do about it?”

Sound familiar?
